Partschins – full of diversity
A voyage of discovery through the village
The small holiday locality of Partschins is home to a few secrets that we would like to share with you.
Around Partschins, Rabland and Töll can be found beautiful jewels of art and history: historic residences, whose walls could tell a tale or two. The weekly village tours organised by the Tourist Board also call in at these historic treasures. The Stachlburg castle and the residences of Spauregg and Gaudententurm also possess enchanting gardens and impressive architecture.
The area around Rabland is home to several different museums. The World Typewriter Museum contains over 2,000 exhibits. Peter Mitterhofer, the inventor of the typewriter, lived in Partschins and developed the first typewriter model there. The Railway World in Rabland, the Art Bunker at Töll, the Museum of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at Bad Egart and a Technology Park round off the cultural attractions.
A visit to the waterfall is an absolute must: a vast flow of water drops 97 metres into the abyss, producing impressive natural effects. With the assistance of a mountain guide you can also abseil down the waterfall or undertake a climbing tour. The “Waterfall” climbing park is also an adventure for adults and children alike. A gentler alternative is to enjoy a long hike.
