Your hosts the Laimer family have lovingly and sensitively restored the centuries-old originality of their ancestral residence, the Hanswirt in Rabland, South Tyrol, to create a stylish and sophisticated ambience for their gourmet restaurant. This is the enchanting setting for breakfast, or for gourmet lunch and dinner à la carte.
Enjoy friendly hospitality, where friendly also means family-friendly. The Laimer family are both the owners and the hosts here: the five members of the family work together as a team to ensure the daily well-being of their guests as regards the hotel, the service and the kitchen, with its fine produce from their own organic farm. They are driven by a desire to produce quality, to achieve the very special. Passionate hosts, they live exactly what they love.
Your hosts
His aim is to continue to run the family estate and help the centuries-old inn and ancestral residence to achieve new splendours. A gifted chef and farmer, in the course of thirty years he has, together with his wife Anna and brother-in-law Markus Palla, completed his life’s work with a great sense of the artistic. His hobbies include the 45 koi carp in the hotel’s own pond.
A passionate cook, she treats her guests with her homemade bread, cakes, biscuits and other delicacies, while her dessert creations are the very pinnacle of sensual indulgence. Her hobby is gardening, particularly herbs, while the raspberries she grows are reserved for her grandchildren Leo, Milla and Jacob.
After gaining experience abroad, the restaurant manager at the Hanswirt set himself the task – along with Georg and Anna Laimer, his sister – of building up a gourmet restaurant with a 4-star Superior hotel. In his spare time he is an avid skier, often to be found on the slopes of the Merano 2000, Schnals and Ulten resorts.
Never short of ideas, he grew up in the Hanswirt and has been familiar with the kitchen and guests from a young age. Together with his parents, he also works in the kitchen when not busy with his managerial responsibilities. His passion is for beautiful old cars and fast new marques, Porsche in particular. He regularly enjoys going for a spin with his son Jacob.
She can be found meeting guests in the restaurant, on the terrace, or in the alcoves; or decorating the tables and restaurant areas, rooms and suites. Her husband Manuel is in charge of their organic farm, which supplies the Hanswirt with fine produce. She is passionate about her family and her two children, and of course the Hanswirt.
