Hiking is possible at three different levels: in the valley are the Waalwege (paths along ancient irrigation channels); cable cars take you up to the lofty heights of the Meran high-mountain trail; while the 3000-metre peaks are for serious mountaineering. On your return, take off your pack, lean back, relax and replenish lost energy with Kaiserschmarren, tasty sweet pancakes.
