The Hanswirt is first mentioned in the year 1357, when the land was bought by Ulrich Stainer von Gutraun. The underlying walls date back as far as the 8th to the 10th centuries.
The oldest name may well be the “Stainer”, followed by the “Suppenhof”, the “Wirtschaft zum Löwen” and, since the 18th century, the “Hanswirt”. The estate has been in the possession of the Laimer family since the 16th century, while the Hanswirt has been an inn for the last 400 years and is thus a historic Tyrolean hostelry.
